Business integration models in the context of web services.

    Get PDF
E-commerce development and applications have been bringing the Internet to business and marketing and reforming our current business styles and processes. The rapid development of the Web, in particular, the introduction of the semantic web and web service technologies, enables business processes, modeling and management to enter an entirely new stage. Traditional web based business data and transactions can now be analyzed, extracted and modeled to discover new business rules and to form new business strategies, let alone mining the business data in order to classify customers or products. In this paper, we investigate and analyze the business integration models in the context of web services using a micro-payment system because a micro-payment system is considered to be a service intensive activity, where many payment tasks involve different forms of services, such as payment method selection for buyers, security support software, product price comparison, etc. We will use the micro-payment case to discuss and illustrate how the web services approaches support and transform the business process and integration model.

Effective nucleon-nucleon interactions and nuclear matter equation of state

    Get PDF
Nuclear matter equations of state based on Skyrme, Myers-Swiatecki and Tondeur interactions are written as polynomials of the cubic root of density, with coefficients that are functions of the relative neutron excess δ\delta. In the extrapolation toward states far away from the standard one, it is shown that the asymmetry dependence of the critical point (ρc,δc\rho_c, \delta_c) depends on the model used. However, when the equations of state are fitted to the same standard state, the value of δc\delta_c is almost the same in Skyrme and in Myers-Swiatecki interactions, while is much lower in Tondeur interaction. Furthermore, δc\delta_c does not depend sensitively on the choice of the parameter γ\gamma in Skyrme interaction.Comment: 15 pages, 9 figure

We show that in the functional integral formalism the (finite) coefficient of the induced, Lorentz- and CPT-violating Chern-Simons term, arising from the Lorentz- and CPT-violating fermion sector, is undetermined.Comment: 5 pages, no figure, RevTe

Angular Normal Modes of a Circular Coulomb Cluster

We investigate the angular normal modes for small oscillations about an equilibrium of a single-component coulomb cluster confined by a radially symmetric external potential to a circle. The dynamical matrix for this system is a Laplacian symmetrically circulant matrix and this result leads to an analytic solution for the eigenfrequencies of the angular normal modes. We also show the limiting dependence of the largest eigenfrequency for large numbers of particles

A mathematical simulation model of the CH-47B helicopter, volume 1

    Get PDF
A nonlinear simulation model of the CH-47B helicopter was adapted for use in the NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) simulation facility. The model represents the specific configuration of the ARC variable stability CH-47B helicopter and will be used in ground simulation research and to expedite and verify flight experiment design. Modeling of the helicopter uses a total force approach in six rigid body degrees of freedom. Rotor dynamics are simulated using the Wheatlely-Bailey equations including steady-state flapping dynamics. Also included in the model is the option for simulation of external suspension, slung-load equations of motion

Nuclear matter properties and relativistic mean-field theory

Nuclear matter properties are calculated in the relativistic mean field theory by using a number of different parameter sets. The result shows that the volume energy a1a_1 and the symmetry energy JJ are around the acceptable values 16MeV and 30MeV respectively; the incompressibility K0K_0 is unacceptably high in the linear model, but assumes reasonable value if nonlinear terms are included; the density symmetry LL is around 100MeV100MeV for most parameter sets, and the symmetry incompressibility KsK_s has positive sign which is opposite to expectations based on the nonrelativistic model. In almost all parameter sets there exists a critical point (ρc,δc)(\rho_c, \delta_c), where the minimum and the maximum of the equation of state are coincident and the incompressibility equals zero, falling into ranges 0.014fm3<ρc<0.039^{-3}<\rho_c<0.039fm3^{-3} and 0.74<δc0.950.74<\delta_c\le0.95; for a few parameter sets there is no critical point and the pure neutron matter is predicted to be bound. The maximum mass MNSM_{NS} of neutron stars is predicted in the range 2.45MMNS3.26_\odot\leq M_{NS}\leq 3.26M_\odot, the corresponding neutron star radius RNSR_{NS} is in the range 12.2kmRNS15.1\leq R_{NS}\leq 15.1km.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure

Constraining Modular Inflation in the MSSM from Giant Q-Ball Formation

We discuss constraints on which flat directions can have large vacuum expectation values (VEVs) after inflation. We show that only flat directions which are not charged under B-L and develop positive pressure due to renormalization group effects can have large VEVs of order \Mp. For example, within the MSSM only the HuHdH_uH_d flat direction is found to be viable. This strongly constrains the embedding of a broad class of inflationary models in the MSSM or some other supersymmetric extension of the SM. For flat directions with negative pressure, the condensate fragments into very large Q-balls which we call Q-giants. We discuss the formation, evolution and reheating of these Q-giants and show that they decay too late. The analysis requires taking into account new phases of the flat directions, which have been overlooked in the formation and dynamics of the Q-balls. These constraints may be ameliorated by invoking a short period of thermal inflation. The latter, however, is viable in a very narrow window of parameter space and requires fine tuning.Comment: 40 pages, 3 figure
